Today, we are very excited to introduce version 8.1.0 of PDFTron's Android PDF SDK, including a new user interface, new redaction toolbar, and much more.
This blog post dives into the major changes. For the full list, please head over to our changelog.
We continued our work on a revamped UI design and are officially releasing the latest and greatest version! The brand new, more intuitive design is now the default for all our samples, with all legacy components deprecated. These changes mean developers gain access to much-improved APIs, supporting flexible UI customization with our PDF tools, and a full roster of built-in accessibility functionality, such as keyboard shortcuts, one-touch access to reading mode, and more. We also provide all the UI source code within the SDK package, enabling complete control over its customization.

Also part of this release, we added a new redaction toolbar to our Android collection. You have full flexibility to use the default redaction toolbar "as-is" -- or select only those tools you need and build your own version of a custom toolbar, including redaction and whatever other PDFTron functionality you wish to drop in from a selection of hundreds of unique features.

We hope you are as excited as we are about these new additions! We have many more new features planned for the coming weeks and months.
