Notes

This release of PDFTron for Xamarin brings the core PDF functionality and iOS and Android Tools functionality inline with version 8.1.1 of the iOS and Android SDKs. More information can be found on What's New for iOS and What's New for Android .

Xamarin.Android

New features

  • New smart pen tool: a tool that will allow users to create text markups on text and create ink on blank space without the need of manually switching tools Smart pen
  • Shape annotations (rectangle, oval, line, arrow) can now be created with a single tap when the respective shape creation tool is active Tap to create shape
  • Adds ability to create user bookmarks in the thumbnails browser Create user bookmark
  • Standard rubber stamps can now be localized
  • Adds APIs to set new annotation toolbars and show/hide annotation toolbars
  • Adds API to disable user bookmark creation through FAB in the user bookmarks dialog

Xamarin.iOS

New features

  • Support for PDFs which start with a number other than 1, eg. i, ii, iii. This is useful with some professionally produced PDFs such as textbooks.

Bug fixes

  • Resolves an issue where it was not possible to create free text annotations with a font size of less than ~12 pt.
  • Resolves an issue where using an Apple Pencil after the toolbars had been hidden would cause them to be shown.
  • Resolves an issue where view position after downloading a document view position would not be maintained in non-continuous page presentation modes.
  • Resolves an issue where freehand annotations could on rare occasions get saved to the wrong spot
  • Resolves an issue where returning false from shouldSelectAnnotation would cause the annotation to hide
