We are happy to announce version 6.10.4 of PDFTron's iOS SDK.

This release adds image stamp annotation rotation, Apple Pencil support, real-time collaboration support, keyboard shortcuts, a new signature UI, and more!

Apple Pencil support

The Tools framework now includes support for Apple Pencil so your users can use it to draw, take notes, or mark-up documents directly inside your iPad app. The annotation type can be customized using the pencilTool property on PTToolManager, with the default being PTFreeHandCreate to create ink annotations.

Real-time collaboration support

We're pleased to introduce initial support for real-time collaboration as demonstrated in the new Collaboration sample included with the .DMG download. We will be expanding our capabilities in coming releases and feedback is always welcome!

Image stamp rotation

There is a new control and gesture to allow rotation of image stamp annotations. Simply grab the rotation handle or use a two-finger rotation gesture and start rotating. For convenience, the annotation will snap to multiples of 45-degree angles.

New signature UI

The signature dialog's appearance has been updated and it's now possible to select the signature's ink color from a number of presets.

Keyboard shortcuts

The feature-packed PTDocumentViewController class now supports keyboard shortcuts when using an external keyboard.

These shortcuts allow your users to quickly and easily navigate through documents, display controls such as the text search toolbar and thumbnail view, as well as perform actions like deleting annotations and printing.

To display a list of keyboard shortcuts on iPad, hold down the command (⌘) key.

See our keyboard shortcuts guide for a full list of available shortcuts.
