What are RSS Feeds?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary), also known as an XML feed, syndicated content or web feed, is frequently updated content published by a website. It allows users to subscribe to a web site and receive quick summaries of its content, including articles, blog entries, news, etc.

How to Use RSS Feeds

When a regularly updated site such as the PDFNet SDK Group has a feed, users can subscribe to it using software for reading syndicated content called a "newsreader." A RSS newsreader sets up an automated delivery of a feed to your desktop, where it lets you read the information in the same newsreader interface. For ease of reference, some newsreaders allow you to organize the feeds. RSS and Atom are two formats for feeds. Most feed readers support both.

There are a number of freely available newsreaders:

  • Web-based: IE7, Bloglines, Google Reader
  • Cross platform: BottomFeeder
  • Windows: FeedDemon, NewsGator, Awasu
  • MacOS X: NetNewsWire

All our mailing lists/RSS and forums are safe and completely free from spam. We also filter all discussions so that you will always receive the most relevant information and in the most condensed format possible.
