We are currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Position:
We are seeking a full-time Software Developer to join our Core
Technology Group, a dedicated team of highly-skilled, enthusiastic
developers, to assist in the ongoing development of our PDFTron
tools and components. As part of this team, the candidate will work
on the design and implementation of algorithms related to some of
the most creative and challenging areas related to PDF, rasterization,
document management, image compression, and color management. This
position will require high technical skills, good research and development
skills and the ability to work independently, while consulting and
cooperating closely with the rest of the group and other related
teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop 'state of the art' tools and libraries related to PDF,
rasterization, image compression, and color management. The developer
will be involved in the entire development process (from requirements
gathering and analysis to high-level design, implementation, test
and maintenance).
- Carry out technical product research in specific product areas/topics.
- Prepare technical proposals, demonstrations and prototypes
for new projects.
- Participate in technical/design reviews and group problem solving
activities.
- Provide customer technical support by answering/solving customer
questions and problems related to PDFTron products.
- Contribute to maintaining and supporting technical documentation.
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science, computer/software engineering
or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing complex software projects
and applications.
- Strong C/C++ development experience. Additional experience
with Java or C# is a plus.
- Knowledge in computer graphics, document formats (especially
page description languages such as PDF, SVG, PostScript), and
image compression technologies.
- Familiarity with advanced algorithms related to raster and
vector image processing.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following development environments:
Windows, Linux, Mac.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic
and collaborative team environment.
- A can-do professional attitude, eager to learn and take on
new challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Position:
We are seeking a full-time Development & Support Engineer to
join our Core Technology Group. The successful candidate will have
strong technical background and good troubleshooting/debugging skills
to work on the design and implementation of new PDF tools and applications
while continuously working on improving and supporting our existing
line of products. The candidate will also be actively involved in
providing technical support to our customers and, as such, will
have excellent organizational and professional skills to deliver
the highest level of response to our customers. We are looking for
a team player who has the ability to work independently, while consulting
and cooperating closely with the rest of the group and other related
teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop new leading-edge PDF tools and applications.
- Continue to develop, support and maintain PDFTron’s existing
product offering.
- Design and implement sample projects/code and applications
that demonstrate the PDFTron line of products.
- Add support for new platforms and programming languages to
our product offering.
- Debug application source code to diagnose errors/bugs and develop
error corrections and/or workarounds to identified issues.
- Work on technical documentation.
- Provide technical product support services to our customers
via phone/email concerning questions relating to PDFTron products
or services.
- Carry out technical product research in specific product areas/topics.
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science, computer/software engineering
or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience developing complex software projects.
- Strong C#, Java, C/C++ experience.
- Knowledge in computer languages interoperability (such as JNI,
managed C++, COM, etc), computer graphics and document formats
(especially page description languages such as PDF, SVG, and PostScript).
- Familiarity with raster and vector image processing.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following development environments:
Windows (.NET and native), Linux, Mac.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently,
as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous customer service/technical support experience is strongly
desired.
